"Signals", in accordance with a POSIX standard, that can be sent to programs to perform specific actions. The most familiar is probably SIGHUP. Hmm, are these more relevant to a client /wever environment than a more "ordinary" program?

• SIGHUP — typical action is to reset a program / server, closing all client connections and performing other cleanup duties
• SIGTERM — typical action is to terminate a program / server
