Question
I have searched and cannot find this anywhere in SUPPORT. My question: Is there a facility of some easy way to implement the selection of a Parent topic, the identification of all of it's Children, then a
MassMove of all topics to a new target web?
This sounds an awful lot like what is already available in 'oops.cgi' except that what would be needed is logic to allow one to indicate that ALL found children are moved.

I have come across a tool that offers at least a
partial solution to what you're looking for. I've been using a script called
Fileman that offers browser-based ftp capabilities plus some other very useful features. The single-user version is free. One of its very useful features is ability to search the
content of files within directories. So, in relation to your question, I have done searches for a string like
"META:TOPICPARENT{name="WebHome"}" and it gives me a list of the
first-level children of the
WebHome topic. You can then select all of those and move them to another directory. Of course, the limitation of this is that you can only search for one level of parentage at a time.
I'll be posting some other uses of Fileman in
MassUpdate.
