Wiki Creole
Creole is a common wiki markup language to be used across different wikis. It's not replacing existing markup but instead enabling wiki users to transfer content seamlessly across wikis, and for novice users to contribute more easily. Creole will create a community of wikis users and developers

Discussion
TWiki does not support WikiCreole at this time. I think it makes sense to support WikiCreole in two ways:
1. Common Exchange Format: Create a
WikiCreoleToTWiki converter (and possibly one that does the reverse.)
2. Edit TWiki content in
CreoleMarkup: Extend the
EditSyntaxPlugin with a
WikiCreoleEditSyntaxRegex edit syntax converter.

http://www.wikicreole.org/wiki/Engines
has current support status and lists 10 wikis so far (as of writing: Oddmuse,
MoinMoin,
DokuWiki,
TiddlyWiki, JSPWiki, Ghestalt,
PmWiki,
PodWiki, Nyctergatis Markup Engine,
NotesWiki).
Somewhat notably MediaWiki support for WikiCreole is mentioned as "planning" only and
the wiki page on the subject
is blank.
With 1.0 out the door this might change though, looking forward to see what progress will be in this area.

I think this is great! I always like standards and common attributes that eases usability one way or another. Also good for those who want to migrate and yet not lose any sight on syntax. Much like Office and Open Office.
Can we somehow push this for 5.0? Along with a
WYSIWYG.
