I have long wanted to link to particular versions of a TWiki page:
e.g. implementing a blog in TWiki, where the blog points to an old, historical, version, but where the generic page may have been updated more recently.
Explicit Revision Number in TWiki Link
TWiki
almost allows this. The TWiki view command allows a revision parameter. E.g.
I'd like to be able to apply this to a TWiki link, without using the URL syntax.
Other attempts:
- Placing the URL in the double square syntax works... [[https://twiki.org/cgi-bin/view/Codev/VersionNameOrDateinTwikiLink?rev1.1][LinkingToTWikiPageVersions?rev1.1]] - LinkingToTWikiPageVersions?rev1.1.
However, this is rather long and clumsy.
I suggest enhancing the TWiki double link syntax to add parameters, such as
[<nop>[LinkingToTWikiPageVersions]?rev=1.1]
.
Dated Revisions in TWiki Link
Going beyond
[[LinkingToTWikiPageVersions]?rev=1.1]
I more often want to specify a date for the revision - the equivalent of
RCS -D.
[[LinkingToTWikiPageVersions]?date="October 10, 2004"]
E.g. this is what I use in my home grown wiki blogging system - where the blog entry
points to the topic page as of the date written, but where the more recent version
of the page evolves away.

There's a plugin, the
RevRecoverPlugin, that does what you want, and could (I guess) be enhanced to handle dates as well.
