I don't know what other topics exist, but I'll describe what's needed.
There are some particular well known terms that need to be clearly communicated to new users who aren't familiar with current syntax and naming. A document needs to be created in the TWiki web to describe these anytime confusion might come up. It should have some general descriptions and a table of terms similar to this:
| Term |
Synonyms Used Elsewhere |
Description |
| TWiki |
|
spelling is almost always as TWiki. |
| Web |
zone, section |
an administrative part of a site |
| topic |
page |
the content area of a page. topics can be used for other purposes as well. |
| breadcrumbs |
hierarchy |
toolname.web.parents.topicname listed on top left of each page when using the Default skin. |
| etc. |
etc. |
etc. |

Good idea! I think we may also want to include some terms like these:
You can find all of these terms on the C2 web somewhere within the
C2:WikiEngineReview
pages (maybe not as standalone pages -- but we'll see when I save this page).
Two asides: IIRC, I might have "coined" the first or second of those on my C2:WikiEngineReview
(woo hoo -- I'll delete this aside next time I comment on this page -- I probably need to get a life -- claiming "credit" for coining a WikiWord -- pathetic). IIRC, WikiWeb created a lot of confusion for me -- IIRC, Ward Cunningham uses WikiWeb to refer to his entire site -- I prefer the term WikiSite to deal with the confusion created by wikis like TWiki that include more than one web. Hmmm, I may be remembering Ward's usage wrong -- maybe his use of C2:WikiWeb
refers to a world wide network of wikis, and C2:WikiWiki
(or C2:WikiWikiWeb
) refers to his site. I guess I could follow all these links and confirm things -- maybe next time I encounter this page. I think we should respect Ward's terminology to a reasonable extent because he is pretty much the father of wikis. (Ignoring some things that might be considered ancestors, like HyperCard and AskSam.)
Ok, I just reviewed the terms and I've definitely got some of it screwed up -- see C2:WorldWideWikiWeb
(and some of it has evolved since my last visit. Maybe I'll attempt to add these terms to the table on my next encounter with this page (unless somebody else does first.
