Patches deemed unsuitable for inclusion in TWikiKernel

The CoreTeam has decided that the ideas embodied in these patches are not suitable for inclusion in core TWiki code. This doesn't mean they're useless! Perhaps with a bit of work they'll make decent FeatureHacks. Note that if you decide that a significant revision of one of these needs further analysis, you may reset the topic to PatchProposal. However, given the nature of our conclusions it might be better to create a new, related PatchProposal, linking to the old one and explaining why the new idea is more suited to TWiki.

One other reason that has developed for putting patches in this category is if the core has plans to do something similar, but with an implementation different enough that the patch doesn't really help. This is different from a classification of PatchAdjustmentRequired due to implementation/design problems in that no further work is necessary by the community -- we'll take care of it, hopefully sooner rather than later. Again, until we do implement/release our conception of the functionality it may be desirable to apply these changes to a TWiki site, especially as they may be compatible with current releases in a way that features under development for an upcoming release will not. -- WM
