UPDATE: Problem resolved. It was my mistake -- under "Tools > Image Manager > Manage Image Permissions" I had images disabled for this site. (For like 6 months?? Geez!) -- Thanks to MattWilkie for pointing me in the right direction! -- RandyKramer - 21 Mar 2003

<The original page, before recognizing my mistake:>

This is (was) also on Support.MozillaBrowserIssues which I updated today and moved here -- initially I thought it was strictly a Mozilla problem, I'm no longer so sure.

Mozilla 1.1 (Mandrake 9.0) does not display the happy face icons or any .gifs on twiki.org.

I initially mentioned this problem with respect to Mozilla 0.9.x and thought it was intermittent at that time. Since upgrading to Mozilla 1.1, I can't recall ever seeing a .gif or happy face icon.

I think there may be some interaction with TWiki, or at least twiki.org, is because I have two (almost) identical pages on two different TWikis:

When I view these two pages with (the same instance) of Mozilla, I see the CFK logo graphic on the one at thelinuxlink.net, but not the one at twiki.org. (If I view that page with, for example, IE, I do see the graphic, so I know it's there.)

It may have something to do with twiki.org (the templates maybe??), or even the TWiki code (because on thelinuxlink I don't think any plugins are installed).

Check your Mozilla settings and the HTML code in question - perhaps your browser has a setting not to display images from other domains, or something like that? Anyway, this is clearly not a TWiki bug since it works fine on other browsers and sites.

Thanks for your response, Richard!

We can leave this as bug rejected, but I'm not convinced -- note that the CFK twiki, like the twiki.org TWiki is foreign to me -- I can't understand what setting in Mozilla would affect one site and not the other -- I will think about it and do some looking, but it doesn't seem likely to me. wink

I'm using Mozilla 1.3b on Windows 2000 and I see the CFK logo on both of the pages you linked to. Looking at the sourcecode of the twiki.org CFK page the only link to an offsite image is the sourceforge logo. The other img src links are sometimes fully qualified, starting with "http://twiki.org/..." (twikirobot, and the diamond used for bullets), and sometimes relative "/p/pub/..." (CFK logo, file attach icon). Both methods are legal html.

Do you use the image blocking capabilities at all? Perhaps when upgrading from one version to another your profile got a little munged and parts of twiki.org is being blocked. Try creating a new Mozilla user profile and see what happens. Also look under "Tools > Image Manager > Manage Image Permissions"

Can you see the CFK logo if you go straight to the image? (http://twiki.org/p/pub/Wikilearn/CfkGettingStartedGuide/CFK_Logo.gif)

Matt: Thank you!! And yes, I feel dumb. -- Problem was that I did have images disabled under "Tools > Image Manager > Manage Image Permissions".

I was thinking about changing the TopicClassification to something else, but the closest I see is BugResolved -- I'm not sure that is any better than BugRejected, so I guess I'll leave it as is. (Clearly it was not a TWiki bug, nor anybody's bug except my own EBKAC.)

You're most welcome Randy. : ) -- MattWilkie - 25 Mar 2003
