I am no way expert Linux admin, but installing
CGI::Kwiki from
CPAN took me whole 15 minutes including download. Why Twiki cannot have this kind of installer? To keep unwashed admins out? They will just swith to Kwiki - BTW changing formatting rules is in examples of customizing, and script to upgrade to next version is included. If you do not believe me it's possible, set aside 15 minutes and try yourself.

Twiki has
TWikiUnixInstaller - it needs to be better promoted and get some official OK if it deserves it. And
TWikiUpgrade is still much pain.

I note from
http://www.kwiki.org/?KwikiAbout
that Kwiki now supports
RCS as a backend. (and Blogging). Refreshingly, it's preview cycle is optional and you can use Kwiki:KwikiTemplateToolkit

Ingy, author of Kwiki, got a job hacking Kwiki for an
OpenSource company. So expect Kwiki to grow fast :-/
http://ingy.kwiki.org/blog.cgi?20030821183018
.
And Ingy promised to add many features of Twiki (like namespaces = webs, and per-user rights), to enable people to move from Twiki to Kwiki.
This is meant not as a promotion of Kwiki, but as a wake-up call for
CoreTeam. Many of us invested (time) heavily. We want to keep Twiki relevant - and the best wiki.

Yowza, Peter is right about easy kwiki install.
RCS works (but doesn't have twiki locking) and some fellow just added rough image uploading (see
http://www.kwiki.org/index.cgi?PikiWiki
). Kwiki's object oriented design makes it easy to extend; it will be interesting to see how Ingy manages its growth. It is very simple now but could get messy as more twiki features are added. The original OO design may help here.
Tough call.

("Indifferent" is not my emotion but seems closest to "ambivalent"

.)

Just saw this, reasons why
PerlMongers don't like TWiki: on
http://yapc.kwiki.org/index.cgi?KwikiBOF
They've not mentioned the sodding forced preview, but WTH.

Nice to see that people are collecting reasons why they don't like TWiki, but I'm sure it's meant in the right spirit

... Interesting that they mentioned
NoRegisterDownload as an issue, but it doesn't surprise me that they wanted a
CPAN-oriented Wiki.
