Interesting tweak on
WebHome to show the Hot Topics etc - however, it would be best if this only shows 5 or so hot topics, with separate link to
WebStatistics for more perhaps. With 10 topics there's a fairly unsightly blank space after the initial paragraphs on the left.

That depends on the screen size and font side, it looks just perfect on my Sony Vaio Subnotebook
The hot topics tables is simply a partial include of the
WebStatistics topic. Here is the code:
%TABLE{sort="off"}%
|*Hot Topics*|*Top Contributors*|
%INCLUDE{"%STATISTICSTOPIC%" pattern=".*?\-\-statTopContributors\-\-\>[^\|]+\|[^\|]+\|[^\|]+\|[^\|]+\|[^\|]+\|[^\|]+(\|[^\|]+\|[^\|]+\|).*"}%
Because of that I can't simply reduce the number of items in the table. To gain a little more screen real estate I reduced the space between the hot topics and the search box.

What would be good is to use a smaller font for the included table - or just set the percentage width of the main text vs the stats table to something like 60:40. I have a 1024 x 768 screen, but the most common screen size for most surfers is apparently still 800 x 600, according to a browser stats site I saw recently - so it would be good to make this work at 800 x 600.
Ultimately it would be good to have
class="table-entry" elements on all table cells, so that this could be controlled more easily using
CSS.

I tweaked
WebHome to use a 55:45 table width ratio, which works OK for 1024 x 768 at least, and fine-tuned the search part a bit. It would be good to use a smaller font as well, but I'll leave it as is for now.

I really like the Hot Topics list, however it really should exclude topics like
WebRss,
WebChanges,
WebHome, and
WebSearch since they are essentially just noise in this context. (The context of Hot Topics. As an analysis tool for how the site is being used, these stats are still essential.) Ideally these fundamental pages should only show up as Hot Topics if they are being
edited often.
So,
- fundamental pages are only be Hot if they have been edited
- other pages are Hot for any combination of views, edits, and uploads
Can this be done?
