Purpose of redesign
The twiki.org homepage has not been significantly changed for a long time. It is very descriptive, but is not so accessible to first time visitors. The goal of the redesign is to get a quick overview in a few seconds what this site is about, and to take specific actions based on user needs. Specifically, we have these uses cases with persona:
- Evaluators:
- Persona: Jane, a team lead is tasked to evaluate different wiki products. She visits wikimatrix.org to narrow down the choices to 3 or 4 wikis. Jane wants to quickly evaluate the candidates and make a recommendation to her boss.
- Action: [ Create account & try TWiki ], Presentation, Documentation, About us
- TWiki admin and potential contributors:
- Persona: Mike is maintaining TWiki for his team. He took over maintenance from someone who changed to a different department. Mike has some coding experience. He is concerned about keeping TWiki up to date, installing new plugins, and overseeing the content in TWiki.
- Action: [ Getting involved ], Community support
- Business people:
- Persona: Wendy is a manager in product marketing. She needs a way to share documents and manage projects with the team. She has limited time to evaluate products and just wants to get started.
- Action: [ Sign up for hosting ]
- System administrators:
- Persona: Frank is a system administrator tasked to install TWiki and additional plugins.
- Action: [ Download TWiki ], Browser 200+ plugins

I changed the fixed multi-row logo roll to a single row that changes logos every 2 seconds.
