Codename

A code name or cryptonym is a word or name used clandestinely to refer to another name or word. Codenames are often used in software projects and in military operations. (modified reference from Wikipedia:Codename)

TWiki production releases have codenames, they are capitals of the world listed in alphabetical order:

"F" Release Vote

For the release after EdinburghRelease we need an "F-somthing" name. There are two possible names:

• Freetown, capital of Sierra Leone
• Funafuti, capital of Tuvalu

FunafutiRelease has been suggested. FreetownRelease sounds like a nice and easy to remember name.

At GeorgetownReleaseMeeting2009x01x19 we decided to use HelsinkiRelease as the next codename.

At HelsinkiReleaseMeeting2010x05x10 we decided to use IstanbulRelease as the codename for the upcoming release. Although not the capital of Turkey, it is the largest city of that country and a well known tourist destination.
