SID-00725: emails empty when using Ldap

I am unable to retrieve the email address for users from the ldap cache via USERINFO or LDAPUSERS. As far as I can tell the login/wikiname lookup is working OK.

As a result notifications do not work (obviously!). I have bounced back and forth trying to find out if getEmails() is actually working...

With Ldap debugging on, I don't see any errors.

Can anyone help me debug this or point me in the right direction?

Hmm... So now this is working and I don't know why exactly.

I think it might have happened after the ldap cache refreshed, but I had already tried this once before with no success.
