SID-00485: User registration not working !

Documentation is really misleading. I am unable to get any user registration working in twiki. I have spent already 1o hours in this. It's configured for .htpasswd. I have given 777 permissions for testing purpose but still wouldn't work. htpasswd is not updating and i simply get "Error registering user". There has been a problem adding your user id to the Password system.

If anyone has any clue please respond.

What kind of LoginManager and PasswordManager do you use? Please provide some more information so that we can help you out, such as your LocalSite.cfg. The SupportGuidelines provide details. Also, check your Apache error_log for related errors.
