SID-00267: Only latest version of Attachment is shown

We use twiki for our Intranet of a globally active consulting company. There we use to share also MS Office documents. Some of them are updated regularly by different staff members. We do so by uploading the updated document under the same name as the anterior version. Doing so we could get back to former versions of the document. However, now I'm in need to have access to older versions of a specific document, all the versions shown under "manage" are the same. It shows me that the document was changed 10 times and I can see when this happened and by whom the changes were made and what kind of comment the user added when uploading the updated document. - but the document is always the same. It wasn't always like this. Entering the server through sftp I find a xls,v file of 60mb. This shows that it did save the versions. thanks for your help!

Discussion and Answer

That is strange. What URL do you get when accessing an older version by clicking on the "view" link of an older file rev in the "manage" screen of the attachment?

For reference, attached is a test.txt file with 4 revisions. Here is what the "view" links produce:

https://xxxx.ch/pub/Management/Reporting/Development_2009.xls All the attachments have the same URL. That's the error. Nevertheless on the attachment table I can see all the 20 versions, just like I can see the 4 versions when I click on "manage" next to the attachment "test.txt" at the bottom of this topic.

I just attached a screenshot of how it looks like in our Intranet. attachment.png I uploaded two different versions of the odt-file with the same name. However version 1 and version 2 of test.odt are now identical when I'm downloading them.

This is a skin specific issue. It looks like the skin has a bug in the table listing all revisions of an attachment. What skin are you using?

-- PeterThoeny - 2009-04-15

natskin "clean" but we are not too happy with it anyway. strange though that it seemed to have worked before.

How about switching to an enterprise grade skin such as the TWikiNetSkin you see here on twiki.org?

-- PeterThoeny - 2009-04-15

If that is doing the trick, we will change definitely! How can I find out which skin are "enterprise grade"?

-- HansPeterWaltisberg - 2009-04-16

The PatternSkin has been enhanced over the years for enterprise use. It has extensive documentation on how to customize it. The TWikiNetSkin is derived from that skin, e.g. is a customized version of that skin. The TWikiNetSkin has been designed by a person who did work for Apple.
