PICTURE SEARCH TECHNIQUES
One of first things most people look for on the Internet is a picture of their favorite person whether it's a movie star, a sports star, a singer, etc. Most fan sites have photo galleries with instructions on how to copy the picture or to print out the picture to hang in your room.
One of the most important things to remember with copying anything from the Internet is to have permission from the website to do so.
The first
picture search technique to use, are from search engines that have a picture index link. Google, All the Web, Alta Vista, and Excite have such a link to search by images/pictures/photos on their home pages. You would simply type in the name of the item or person in the search area and then click on the image or picture link instead of the web link.
Another
picture search technique is to use the search engines whose focus is to search the Internet for images, clipart and graphics based on the name of the item or person you request. Some of those specific web sites are as follows:
Pics4Learning is a copyright-friendly image library for teachers and students. The Pics4Learning collection consists of thousands of images that have been donated by students, teachers, and amateur photographers.
Another
picture search technique is to use any search engine and type your request in the following manner - "image:airplane" to find an image of an airplane.
