How to change your password

If you remember your old password

To change your password use the ChangePassword topic, where you must type:
  • your WikiName
  • your old password
  • your new password (twice)

After the password is changed you must exit your browser and reenter.

If you forgot your old password

Then you can ask the admin for a ResetPassword.

After you have typed:

  • Your WikiName
  • your new password (twice)
You will be given an encrypted version of your new password.

Send it to yout TWiki administrator for installation.

How to install a new password (admins only)

Only TWiki administrators (i.e. people belonging to TWikiAdminGroup) can install password generated with ResetPassword.

  • check with the user to be sure the request is not a bad joke
  • open InstallPassword
  • copy the WikiName:encryptedpassword in the form
  • install it (you will be asked your password if you have not yet authenticated)

Is it possible with the latest release of TWiki for an administrator to install or change passwords? If not, why was this disabled in the later release?
