Question

TaxonomyClassification

We are developing a KM portal and would like to know if anyone has developed any plugin that helps in determining TaxonomyClassification in a TWiki, i.e. classification of topics. Something similar to what we have in windows explorer.

Answer

Have you tried using the TopicClassificationAddOn? It might sound like it's something like that you are after.

BTW: Not everybody might know what a taxanomy is, nor what is in your particular definition. Wikipedia has this definition: Wikipedia:Taxonomy - but is this what you are after, a simple classifications of topics in a treestructure? In that case, you might be able to get along just by using the TreePlugin.

Anyway, please elaborate a bit smile

Thanks Steffen for the information. I think, the above mentioned addon might help. Will get back in case of further queries.

Bivas - Just a quick note about TopicClassificationAddOn - I'm about ready to redesign it. If you have any questions about it or changes you'd like to see, feel free to contact me directly and maybe I can incorporate your ideas that would help assure it meets your needs.

You can use TWikiForms to categorize topics. Alternatively do it the Wiki way with CategoryCategory.

I've created a page with some links on Codev.FacetedNavigation.
