Hello,
Can anyone comment on the status of any known fix or working install of TWiki Ciaro on Linux with Apache 2 as referenced in
TWiki.TWikiInstallationGuide#Step_2_Edit_the_Configuration_Fi ?
http://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=%2022030
says that the problem is apparently fixed in Apache 2.0.50, although
http://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=%2022030#c47
claims that something may still exist in 2.0.52, but there was no followup.
I'm running Redhat9/Apache-2.0.52 and can upgrade if need be.
Does anyone have any known, working systems without any workarounds, and what Apache config are said systems running?

If the problem exists on my system, what procedure can I run, as a user, to duplicate the problem? I want to execute this procedure and see if it breaks my system or not...thus giving me confidence in my system capability if I can run said procedure and no break occurs.

Related question(s) and further clarification:
What are the consequences to the suggested "open(STDERR, ">>/tmp/error.log");" setlib.cfg workaround? Will a user simply not see the appropriate or any error text when an error occurs while they are using TWiki? And/or what exactly happens that I as a user and an admin should worry about if I have to use the above workaround?

I will need to know this soon before I go live with my Intranet. I have a Registration form hang happening, and I'm not sure if it's because of this problem or not (the workaround did not appear to help...although maybe I need to restart some process(es) after making the .conf workaround change?). I also really don't like implementating the workaround without 1) knowing the consequence of the workaround, and 2) not being able to consistenly and readily duplicate the bug and then seeing that the workaround fixes said bug.
Thanks for any help.

Answer
IssuesWithApache2dot0 has a comment near the end that indicates 2.0.52 does not have this issue. Since the recent comment on
ApacheBug:22030
was very scant on detail, it may not be the same bug, but a recent comment on
TWikiOnApache2dot0Hangs says that .52 still has this problem...
You will get more responses if you comment on
TWikiOnApache2dot0Hangs (or
TWikiIRC) since this is a highly technical issue.
