Question

I just installed the SearchPDFPlugin and the install went smoothly. It shows as a valid plugin and I don't have any errrors in /twiki/bin/configure. However, I'm not sure what it is supposed to do or I how I am supposed to use this. This plugin would be an extremely valuable asset to my TWiki because I have a lot of uploaded attachments that are pdf and I would really like them to be searchable. Hopefully that is what this plugin is supposed to do. Anyway, if anyone has any experience with this plugin, I would be very grateful for any support.

Environment

TWiki version: TWikiRelease04x02x00
TWiki plugins: DefaultPlugin, EmptyPlugin, InterwikiPlugin
Server OS: FC8
Web server: Apache 2.2
Perl version: 5.8
Client OS: FC8
Web Browser: Firefox 2

I also installed XPDF without any issues.

I never tried this plugin, but I think you should take a look at SearchEngineKinoSearchAddOn. It also searches through some other types of files, and the search is much faster than the original.

Thanks a bunch Guilherme!! I went ahead and installed the module and are waiting on my first index to complete. It looks very promising. I'm not sure how long it will take to process about 800 Mb of TWiki content.
