SID-01723: Find pages edited by a particular user

Status: Answered Answered TWiki version: Perl version:
Category: CategorySearch Server OS: Last update: 12 years ago

I'm trying to find pages a particular user has edited, ideally ever... but I'll settle for last edited.

Most promising seemed a query search, like:

%SEARCH{ META:TOPICINFO.author="<wikiname>" type="query" }%

but that doesn't seem to work

suggestions?

Discussion and Answer

You could do a simple %SEARCH{ "<wikiname>" webs="all" }%. This catches also topics where the user added a comment. If you want to query just the author in the meta data you need to use the proper syntax as described in QuerySearch. Details on search options at VarSEARCH.

Keep in mind that each time a topic is updated the author is also updated, e.g. the original author can't be queried unless the name is listed as a signature in the topic.

The QuerySearch page led me to the syntax in my question:

%SEARCH{ META:TOPICINFO.author="<wikiname>" type="query" }%

Is that not correct?

Rereading, I thought maybe this would work:

%SEARCH{ "info[author='<wikiname>']" type="query" }%

... but still nada

I think this should be "info.author='JimmyNeutron'"

yes, I had tried that too -- not working for me

Demo:

Searched: info.author='PeterThoeny'

yes, looks the same as what I'm trying --- maybe it's a conflict with one of our plugins ?

I just tried Peter's demo on my twiki, it works for me as well.

Interesting why it does not work for you Jon...

You did not specify the TWiki version you have.

-- Peter Thoeny - 2013-06-10

Well, it turns out the "author" in the meta info is not the same as the wikiname! (which is what shows up in the page history and revinfo, and everything else) -- it's the username, which you log in with, which for us is different. Mystery solved.

Glad it worked out.
