SID-01349: Import values for select list using Search into a table

Status: Answered Answered TWiki version: 4.0.1 Perl version:
Category: CategorySearch Server OS: Windows Last update: 14 years ago

Hi,

I'm working with the ContactDB example and now want to create a link from a new DB of products to link a product to a contact. I have created a form for a new product which includes various credentials such as name, type, etc. I now want to add a select field which pulls all contacts out of ContactDB so that I can select one. Unfortunately when I add a %SEARCH{}% into one of my table cells to do this the table formatting seems to go awry. Is there a way to fix this?

Thanks Colin

Discussion and Answer

Content in TWiki table cells need to be all on one line. That applies to a SEARCH result as well. For a search placed in a table cell, use SEARCH options nonoise="on" newline=" " separator=", " format="$formfield(somename)"

See details in VarSEARCH, FormattedSearch, QuerySearch.
