SID-00445: Use search results in a search

Status: Answered Answered TWiki version: 4.2.0 Perl version:
Category: CategorySearch Server OS: Last update: 16 years ago

I have a holiday calendar solution where the absences of staff members of a certain local office of your company are shown. To get an up-to-date list of the staff members of this office the search string would be %SEARCH{type="query" "(form.name ~ '*UserForm') AND (fields[name='Office'].value='OfficeXXX')" nonoise="on" format="$topic" separator=", " expandvariables="on"}% the result here is SeppMeier, PeterMuller

but now I need to get this list into the search string that creates the values for the holiday calendar %SEARCH{" \* [0-9]{2}.*" type="regex" topic="HERE SHOULD COME THE RESULT OF THE FIRST SEARCH STRING" nonoise="on" multiple="on" excludetopic="%TOPIC%" format="$text - $topic" }%

How do I get this done?

Discussion and Answer

See the section called "Nested Search", at FormattedSearch. You will also find many examples of nested searches in this support web.

Also, you might want to check out TWiki Application Report - Holiday Planner for some ideas.

See nested search example at SearchPatternCookbook.
