Question

I've just had a bout described in BatchUploadPluginDev whereby I upgraded from perl 5.8.6 to 5.8.8 and the %LOGON_OR_WELCOME% variable stopped working.

Afraid of what else might have been broken behind the scenes, I'm now setting out to revert everything back to version 5.8.6

What is the recommended perl version ? What are the considerations when changing (upgrading) the perl version ?

Thanks!

If there is nothing wrong with perl 5.8.8, per se, then I wonder which factors would explain the variable no longer working after moving to this perl version ?

TWiki should work just fine with 5.8.8.
