Question
I would really like to get
TigerSkin working but I find the documentation lacking. I feel like im missing something. Here is what I did. NOTE: my twikiweb and version control is working great.
1. upacked the
TigherSkinPlugin.zip to my twiki dir
2. set perms on all files according to docs
3. Set
WebPreferences Set SKIN = tiger
4. Set
TwikiPreferences
Set ACTIVEPLUGINS =
TigerSkinPlugin
Set SKIN = tiger
I never see the new skin at all. There is also something i think im
supposed to do in
WebMenu but i have no clue what.
Oh John Talintyre's advice, I tried appending ?skin=tiger to my url but that still would do nothing. No matter what I try I cannot get TWiki to recognize the alternate plugin.
I tried renaming view.tiger.tmpl to view.tmpl and it looked pretty good. (see img attached)
I've attached some other files that might help you understand what im doing wrong. My directory structure is owned entirely by root. While thats probably a major security problem, im not concerned with security at this point.
Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated.
- TWiki version: TWiki20001201
- Web server: Apache

Answer
Plugins are not supported in the current production Twiki versions, to get that functionality you need any of the current Betas or the Alfa version. Or just wait until the Spring2001 version comes out.

If I am correct, you are saying that the March version does not support the plugins, which then is an issue for me because that is the latest version I have installed here. Where can I find the latest Beta download? - I've been searching the sight and I can't find it. Also, when is the 'Spring2001' version supposed to come out?
- [ EdgarBrown ] No, what I'm saying is that the December 2000 version does not support plugins, the March version suports them, albeit with a slightly different interface than the more recent alfas.

The
TigerSkinPlugin only runs on the latest TWiki alpha (it uses Func.pm) - I have now made this clear as a dependency. Sorry - I should have highlighed this from the start.
