Question
Hello,
Is there a way to moderate the TWiki registration process?
Recently I got into the admin seat on just the webinterface side ... yeah, I am more of the janitor than the admin.
The installation is on the internet but the edit access is intended for only a certain five hundred or so people ... and I can see that there are lots of psuedo users who have been messing about and I have had to step in and do the cleanup ...
Though I beleive in collaborative development and the TWiki culture, as a admin with limited time resources, I would be much better off knowing who all can edit the webs ...

PS: Apologies for not being able to fill up all the server side info ...

Answer
The
RegisterCgiScriptRewrite adds a bunch of features such as requiring users to verify their email address. I am in the process of pulling it into a branch in subversion, but it works for me against
CairoRelease (SVN 1742).
There is a place in the code for a moderator to perform
ApprovingRegistrations, but this is not implemented yet.
- How good are your coding skills?
- How good are your testing skills?
- Does your company want this?
- Can you make a case for them to pay me to work on the features they want?
If so I can prioritise what they want; rates are reasonable and everyone would benefit.
Feel free to contact, regardless of your answers to these questions.

# How good are your coding skills?
nothing to write home about ... just started looking at perl scripts ...
# How good are your testing skills?
zilch
# Does your company want this?
in school, and the twiki installation is of a nonprofit group for which I volunteer ...
Hi Martin,
thanx for the leads. I am sorry that I wont be able to contribute to this effort or get some one to pay for it.
I will keep an eye on the topics you referred me to and will also try to develop my coding skills ...
hope you do get someone to put this all together, appreciate your help.

You might want to tighten up your
TWikiAccessControl so that new users can only edit the Main web until they have been added to a
TWikiGroups.
