Question

I have tried everything and have searched for every possible answer but can find nothing on why I can not get twiki to run. When I run the configure script it just hangs. It sits for about 5 mintues then goes to the default error page, can't find server or page etc. I finally got it to save my paths then moved on the the second part but still the same thing and will never run using the view script. When I run view I get, Internal Server Error The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

I found instructions where you can install it by not using configure so I did that. Anything beyond this line, '$TWiki::cfg{OS} = 'UNIX'' needed commented out or all I got was the error running configure was 'Perl error when reading LocalSite.cfg: Scalar found where operator expected ' at line xxx. But of course after commenting out so many lines it still will not run with view. I do not know what to do. I have wasted many many days trying to get this running. I'm running fedora core 5 with apache webserver. my twiki version is 4.1.2. can anyone help me I can't find the answer any where on your web site. Than you

the errors you have form the configure script suggest to me that there are so many pre-requisistes missing from your installation (rcs, CGI::Session etc) that the configure script is spending too long trying to find things, and this apache is timing it out.

I'd suggest following the INSTALL.html documentation, installing all the pre-requisites, and then seeing what the apache error log tells you.

I also wonder if you might not find it easier to try out the 4.2.0 release candidate installer linked from TWikiInstaller
