Question

I'm testing TWiki and I'm getting some problems regarding registering new users. I don't want that people be able to register by themselves. I would like that the administrator register the users. I would like to know how to hinder registration, and how I can register without the e-mail confirmation as it is boring to a admin to do this process every time a new user is created. Tks in advance.

Environment

TWiki version: TWikiRelease04x00x00
TWiki plugins: DefaultPlugin, EmptyPlugin, InterwikiPlugin
Server OS: Linux Slackware
Web server: Apache
Perl version:
Client OS: Windows XP
Web Browser: Internet Explorer
Categories: Authentication

Answer

ALERT! If you answer a question - or someone answered one of your questions - please remember to edit the page and set the status to answered. The status selector is below the edit box.

If you don't want the users to register themselves and to have it all under the control of the administrator, then use Dakar's TWiki.BulkRegistration. Remove the TWiki.TWikiRegistration and TWiki.TWikiRegistrationPub topics. Then use Dakar's TWiki.BulkResetPassword to automatically generate the passwords and mail them out to the users.

This makes the machine do all the work.

Upgrading to Dakar is worth the effort for a whole vareity of reasons!
