Question

I am trying to get the value of a META:PREFERENCE. I have no idea how to do this. I have looked up the documentation on SEARCH, QuerySEARCH, and META but none of them seem to be able to do this. Is this possible without a plugin?

You might have a look at the SearchPatternCookbook, Pattern 8 which shows a more general approach to use Search on MetaData.
