Question

I've installed TWiki but can't figure out how to edit settings on TWikiPreferences. I assume you're supposed to click the edit button at the top, but then it asks you for a username/password. If you add a user it wants to email the password to you, which of course won't work since the setting for email is on TWikiPreferences. What am I missing??

In addition, is there a default admin (which would make my above question moot), or do I have to add one? If you have to add one, how do you make that user an admin?

Environment

TWiki version: TWikiRelease02Sep2004
TWiki plugins: DefaultPlugin, EmptyPlugin, InterwikiPlugin
Server OS: Windows 2000 SP4
Web server: Apache 2.0.54
Perl version: 5.8.7
Client OS: Windows XP SP2
Web Browser: Firefox 1.0.6
Categories: Installation

Answer

ALERT! If you answer a question - or someone answered one of your questions - please remember to edit the page and set the status to answered. The status selector is below the edit box.

Sounds like a chicken and egg problem smile

You could edit TWikiPreferences on the shell level for the mail settings. Or follow the TWikiInstallationGuide.
