Answer

ALERT! If you answer a question - or someone answered one of your questions - please remember to edit the page and set the status to answered. The status selector is below the edit box.

In a Microsoft Exchange world, SMTP is used to send mails. However, the SMTP server may be configured to not accept mails from unknown entities. It may be necessary to add a user id and password to authenticate to the SMTP server in the TWiki configuration (in bin/configure, variables {SMTP}{Username} and ={SMTP}{Password}). Your Exchange admin should be able to tell you that, or perhaps tell you the name of a SMTP server within your network which works without authentication.
