Question

So I've created 3 or 4 topics in my TWiki in a mad moment of inspiration, and now suddenly realised that each new page I've created is parented to the page that the link is on.

I know i can reparent topics to other topics, but how do i reparent a topic such that it no longer has a parent (I suppose it's parent is then the web itself and not other topic)?

Thanks

Environment

Server OS: Mac OS X 10.3.1
Web server: Apache 1.3.28
Perl version: 5.8.1

Answer

OK, I'll answer it myself. I should have investigated this a little bit longer - reparenting to WebHome removes any topic parent!

Not quite.

I'm using the TreePlugin and I did a tree view on the whole web. I can see those topics I've reparented to WebHome are indeed parented to WebHome. There are some topics that are not parented to anything.

I think the confusion lies in the navigator at the top of the page which doesn't include WebHome for those topics parented to it.

Does it really matter? How can I really remove any parent from a topic?

This will be addressed in SettingParentTopicToNone shortly.

Oops! Thanks, should have looked in Codev too!
