Answer

ALERT! If you answer a question - or someone answered one of your questions - please remember to edit the page and set the status to answered. The status selector is below the edit box.

The answer to both your question is: FormattedSearch. Start with SearchBookTitles to learn how to build a simple TWikiApplication (filter).

Add a "Department" field to the registration form, and a "Department:" bullet to all existing TWiki user home pages. Then apply a FormattedSearch as suggested. (no Perl knowledge required)

See also SearchUserByOffice.
