Question
I am trying to install twiki on a shared webhost - lunarpages.com
I did everything (I think) as indicated in the installation program and managed to get configure to run.
My problem is that after I click on "Next" in configure, I get the following error message:
Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /twiki/bin/configure.pl on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
Apache/1.3.37 Server at www.parentsresource.info Port 80
How do I fix this?
I am attaching the configure page.

Answer
If you answer a question - or someone answered one of your questions - please remember to edit the page and set the status to answered. The status selector is below the edit box.
You need to set up your Apache configuration so that the configure script is accessible. You have to have the
ExecCGI option enabled in the bin directory.
See the installation documentation, and check that you have configured apache as described there.

Nope. I have the same problem and can't figure out the .htaccess and .htpasswd configurations that will make it work. Like the question asker, I will give up on twiki and move to mediawiki which installed easily.

I am as the previous posters in this thread trying to install TWiki on a shared webhost account (Lunarpages).
In comparison, installing
MediaWiki was a breeze, worked out-of-the-box. However, getting TWiki to install is proving to be a real challenge.
Obviously, if I were an expert, perhaps the installation would not be an issue -- however, as this not the case I am stuck. Even Lunarpages support people are stuck.
I am sure there are many of you out there that have the knowledge to provide more of a step-by-step install for shared cPanel based webhosts. It is valuable for the TWiki community as a whole with more users with positive experiences installing the product.
Appreciate your help!
