Question

Hello,

we're running a TWiki with > 400 users. The authentication is done by Apache and our LDAP. We used to use the Bulk Registration just to create the user topic in the Main web and to update the TWikiUsers topic in the Main web. This was working with 4.05 very well. After Upgrade to 4.2.3 The BulkRegistration say that our configuration is readonly and it is not working any more.

We used to have the

• LoginManager set to Apache and the
• PasswordManager set to none.

I looked if Bugs.Item6135 may help. it doesn't.

I tried a upgrade to 4.2.4 did not fix the problem.

Any help appreciated

Not sure why. The bulk registration code is a bit flaky and needs some Tender Loving Care. Make sure that the TWikiUserRegistrationAgent user has write access to the Main web (possibly also the TWiki web?)

Okay / problem is solved.

1. I modifed the BulkRegistration topic and permanently unset the NOTMODIFYABLE and removed the warning message...
2. as you mentioned TWikiRegistrationAgent was not part of my Main TWikiUsers topic
3. I was forced to open (allowwebchange) the mainweb to everybody, as the bulkregistration somehow tries to access the Main in the context of the newly registered user before it finishes.
