Question

A user has just brought this problem to my attention. A locked topic (set by another individual user using Set ALLOWTOPICCHANGE=) when attempting to be edited by the user (without admin privileges) returned an access denied screen (the oopsaccesschange template was called) as would be expected with the only odd thing, in the error message itself, being that the web and the topic that are the subject of the denial show up in the oops message as the Main web and the WebHome topic.

However, the OK button to close the window was not hyperlinked, but there was a ? mark next to the OK. When the question mark was clicked the user was:

  • Taken to an edit screen in the Main web (the original locked topic was in a different web)
  • The new topic was named with the name of the original Topic
  • The edit screen was in fact the template for creating a new group.

I've checked the oops template (attached) but can't see a problem - but I really don't know what I am looking for that could be the source of the problem in the script :-).

The oopsaccesschange script hasn't been edited since it was installed (upgraded), although I've just changed it after the upload below to include a warning about ending up at the Main web. smile

I had the user try to edit another couple of locked pages in the same web as the problem page as above. In these cases the OK button was operational and again the oops text referred to the Main web and the WebHome topic. The user was then taken to the WebHome page of the Main Web.

Any clues as to the problem in the first place and then the different outcomes in the same web?
