Hey Arthur, I have updated summary of the plugin in the ReservationPlugin topic. I hope it would be useful in the context of reserving the resources (.i.e. Books in case of LIBRARY ).

It will be nice, if you can add the following to the ReservationPlugin topic

• Add some sample use-code of the ReservationPlugin in the same page so that people can simply revisit the topic to see if the plugin is workign properly.
  Ex. Many plugins like EditTablePlugin, ActionTrackerPlugin have put somewhere in the doc a line that would state "if every ReservationPlugin is installed properly on your server, then you would see ...."

• It will be better if we can extend the above to specify what other types of reservations we are interested in.

• As the plugin is about accessing the database, one cannot directly use the code in the ReservationPlugin , so I has provided the link in the topic such that the working of Plugin can be checked.
• I already provided the link to ResourceAdministrator in the ReservationPlugin where the administrator can create / delete the tables. But as i mentioned in the ReservationPlugin the prerequiste is to create a database named Reservation.
• A section has been added in the topic how to use the plugin for various type of reservations.

Hi Srikanth, Thanks for adding this plugin to TWiki. Would it be possible to include the following enhancements to the plugin?

• Ability to configure the database name/user/password in the lib/LocalSite.cfg file
• Possibly provide details on the mysql side to allow a non-root user to create/modify tables.
• Add an ReservationPlugin_installer script to the plugin package
• There is a lot of redundant/test code in ReservationPlugin.pm, could this be removed?
• Some extra examples of how to use the variables

Wonderful plug-in. I've been looking for exactly this sort of plug-in for our corporate Intranet TWiki. But I wonder if it is possible to extend it to include the possibility of reservation time as well. So you could reserve a resource: 2008-10-23 12:00 to 2008-10-23 13:30.

@Pettersson, Thanks for the compliment. I've pondering over the inclusion of time of Reservation right from the design of ReservationPlugin.But I opted to develop a good working plugin with optimum features rather than a plugin with extra ordinary features. Now that I've destined to the first phase successfully and I am considering my self to develop the next phase.One can expect the next version of plugin with in 15 days or so.

I changed the ModificationPolicy of this extension from ContactAuthorFirst to PleaseFeelFreeToModify due to inactivity. Anyone please feel free to work on this extension.
