Running TWiki on Apache 2.0.52, RHEL 3.0, with SpeedyCGI (without mod_speedy). First tried some other wiki's:

• TikiWiki looks more like a wiki syntax based cms to me
• MoinMoin has real nice wiki syntax, is fast. Still using the DesktopEdition for PIM.

Why TWiki?

• Multiple webs, with one registration system
  • Using Apache Basic Authentication, without https
• Users can be in control of ACL's
  • Create own groups
  • Manage their own web preferences
• User community biased towards Intranet collaboration
• Has pictures, drawing, MathML
• Performs ok, when you use SpeedyCGI or mod_perl
• Plugins are forms are considered nice to have right now

Personal Preferences (details in TWikiVariables)

• Show tool-tip topic info on mouse-over of WikiWord links, on or off: (see details in TWikiPreferences)
  • Set LINKTOOLTIPINFO = off
• Horizontal size of text edit box:
  • Set EDITBOXWIDTH = 70
• Vertical size of text edit box:
  • Set EDITBOXHEIGHT = 22
• Style of text edit box. width: 99% for full window width (default), width: auto to disable.
  • Set EDITBOXSTYLE = width: 99%
• Optionally write protect your home page: (set it to your WikiName)
  • Set ALLOWTOPICCHANGE = PeterHuisken
