Product Profile

Here's the deal on the latest version of XMB, 1.5RC5, one of the popular OSS message boards. For the most part, it has the standard BBS features, like phpBB and lots of others, Perl and PHP. But it also has file attachments, plus polls and private instant messaging.

Since TWiki is kind of the opposite of a message board, I bolded the similar features, and bold italicized the particularly interesting ones. Comparing a message board may seem odd, but a lot of the functionality of TWiki in certain areas is there...

XMB is an extremely powerful, extremely light weight forums package. It's coded in PHP, and uses MySQL for the backend. It's fast, feature rich, customizable, and most importantly, FREE for both private AND commercial use. You will never pay a dime to use XMB on any site (but of course, feel free to donate ).
