TWiki Release 4.1.0-beta1

This beta release is made available for testing by the developer community and based on SVN MAIN branch revision 11975 (14 Nov 2006).

As this first beta is released there are still approx 70-80 open known bugs. Especially the new configure needs to be tested with this beta so it gets tested outside the "pseudo-install" that most developers run. It is important that as many as possible install this beta and reports bugs in Bugs:WebHome.

This beta release is not recommended for production use.

For production use - it is recommended to download TWiki Release 4.0.5.

TWiki 4.1 is expected release mid December depending on the stability.

Note that already on the first day of testing, some severe bugs related to configure and installation of extensions were found which makes this new feature non functional.

There will soon be a beta 2 with these issues fixed. But the rest of this beta should run so please test ahead.

You can still install extentions the good old manual way and enable/disable them in configure.

Second severe problem. Access rights of all files related to extensions are not correct because of a bug in the build script that builds the TWiki tgz file. You can fix this by running the SettingFileAccessRightsLinuxUnix script.
