As is mentioned in ViewWikiAsItWas, RCS is very under-utilized in TWiki today.

One editing system which TWiki resembles is MSWord's "track changes" mode. However, in TWiki the changes are accepted by default and diffs are harder to read. Therefore, this feature enhancement request has two components:

  • redline diff view which shows a diffs between two versions with multi-colored redlining. For simple text pages this should be easy, for complicated pages it will be hard.
  • redline lock mode where a page can be made to always display a redlined copy since a particular revision. In a simple version the entire page's redline lock can be bumped to the current version (or removed). In a complicated version, something approximating MSWord's review/accept model for each change might be useful

Each Wiki user would be assigned a unique color for the redlining, and the redline diff view would include a color-to-user legend in the UI. I plan to do some experimentation with this and see what happens.
