Fixed in Mozilla 0.9.7 - see last comment.
It appears one cannot edit a twiki-web using mozilla 0.61
(netscape 6). After hitting the `preview changes' it returns
using a blank page (twiki headers and footers, but no content).
Hitting save-changes actually sets the page back to 0 characters.
* TWiki version: 09 Sep 2000 (but also on this twiki web :-()
* Server OS:
SuSE 7.0

I've noted the same problem with Netscape 6 running on Redhat Linux.
After getting the blank page, if you push the back-button in the browser and re-submit the same changes it all of a sudden works...

That's very true! And not only that: Mozilla 0.8 complains about "improper use of save script"
or something like that. Again, nothing that a "back" + submit won't fix. I wonder, however,
what might be happening here...

This seems to be a bug in Mozilla and Netscape 6.
TWiki needs to be protected from accidentally zeroing topics; therefore the
TopicClassification is set to
FeatureToDo.

I've verified that Mozilla is sending an empty "text" field,
and it's bug
78225 in the Mozilla bug tracking database.

Please check the Mozilla bug DB (now linked above) for this bug. One of the Mozilla developers has asked for a re-test with Mozilla 0.9. Also, please vote for this bug in the Mozilla bug database if you would like to see it fixed - just follow the link.
One of my Twiki users has tested this with Netscape 6 (Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; WinNT4.0; en-GB; m18) Gecko/20001106 Netscape6/6.0) and found that the bug happened with the Twiki May 2000 release, but not with the Dec 2000 release.

The problem still exists with Mozilla 0.9 for Linux. It happens with my Dec 2000 release and with the TWiki.org installation.

Can you update the Mozilla bug DB (Bugzilla) - the link to this bug is above. I tried voting for this bug, but had some registration problems.

I've also seen this in IE 5.5. Again: back followed by re-submit works.

I've seen this on IE 5.5 on the twiki.org site (UNIX), but the same client with an NT server works fine every time. Weird.

Just tested this again on Mozilla 0.9.1 and didn't get this problem, on a couple of twiki.org pages! Maybe it's fixed, but
MozillaBug:78225
(check the new
InterWikis entry) doesn't say so. Would be helpful if others could test this Mozilla version against other TWiki versions, since TWiki.org's code does change quite a lot.
BTW, see
BrowserIssues for some more info on Mozilla and other browser quirks. Please add any more you know of so they can go in the docs.

This is definitely fixed in Mozilla 0.9.7 (and probably earlier versions as well, forget which one fixed it). Mozilla is now a pretty good browser for TWiki use, apart from
RefreshEditPage which can be fixed in TWiki.
This page should be set to BugResolved.
Mozilla users might also like to try adding TWiki to their sidebar - click over to
MozillaSidebar to try this out.
