Bug: Mailnotify.tmpl page causes issues with the From: line

I was trying to use mailnotify with the latest Twiki Beta, but kept getting the following error message:

5.5.4 Invalid Address

I had to edit the mailnotify.tmpl file and change:

From: %WIKIWEBMASTERNAME% <%WIKIWEBMASTER%>

to:

From: %WIKIWEBMASTER%

for mail to be sent.

This appears to have changed between the last release and this beta.

Was pushing email to an Exchange 2000 Server acting as an SMTP relay and also a Windows 2003 Server with SMTP services loaded.

It seems like you are mixing the latest Beta with an old TWikiPreferences topic. Add a WIKIWEBMASTERNAME setting to it. This feature was added to avoid notifications being trapped by spam filters, see SimplerMailNotification.
