Great
article about how to tell if your intranet sucks
- I don't agree with everything it says, but it does promote the 'everyone must be able to publish' and discussion forum interaction model. Doesn't mention Wikis, unfortunately ... See
HowToGetInternalBuyInForTWiki for related discussions btw.
So - maybe this would be a good place to discuss
'why intranets suck, and what to do about them'

This is the e-mail I sent: (wishing TWiki has an

Dear Scobleizer,
you list very good points, although some sound like
they are tailored as a PR for Manila. What I miss is
an alternative list of writeable intranet sites with
pros and cons for each.
For example, many corproations are using a Wiki system
for their Intranet [1], [2], [3], [4]. TWiki [4] is
specifically designed for corporate Intranet use and
addresses most of the points you listed.
To get a big picture of the TWiki technology read the
article Mr. TWiki's Collaboration Software in the
Open Magazine [5]; the Tool of the Month review in
UnixReview.com [6]; How to Install TWiki as a Corporate
Intranet at Linux.com [7]; and the TWiki article in the
Web Techniques magazine [8]
Regards,
Peter
