I recently realised that
InterwikiPluginEarlyDev can be used to do some simple semantic markup - for example, I use an ID: Interwiki tag to link to Internet Drafts, which are deleted every 6 months and frequently updated, e.g. draft-ietf-ppvpn-vpn-vr-00.txt may change to draft-ietf-ppvpn-vpn-vr-01.txt.
Because the ID: indicates the meaning of the link, it is at least conceivable to write a tool that finds all ID: links and checks to see if they are still valid - if not, it can try to access the next couple of draft revisions.
This is probably a fairly common problem when linking to other intranet sites as well - e.g. there's one spreadsheet I would like to link to, but its revision number changes too frequently.
Just thought this was of interest, both on a practical level and as an opportunity for converging with
XML - once there is some semantics in the TWiki markup, it's easier to convert to
XML, either for conversion to other formats or for presentation to the user.
