I'm studying use of TWiki Forms to simplify data input for standardized topics (particularly for TWiki-newbies). It occurs to me that it might be very useful to create an archive of TWiki forms here on the TWiki.org site. The benefits of this would include:
- Providing folks setting up new Twiki sites some forms they can copy into their site and start using immediately.
- Provide examples of forms that people learning how to create forms could study and build upon.
- Showcase innovative uses of forms to promote their expanded utility in TWiki.
After saving his topic, I realized I should have included Templates in it also. Everything I say above also applies to Templates, so I would also propose creating a
TemplateArchive.
Still later additions. I was just looking at
ItemToDo and see this as an example of what I might call
MiniTwikiApp that provides a complete functional module using a combination of forms, templates and searches. I'd love to see some more examples like this! In line with this, I'd love to see an place where people could upload examples they've created and are willing to share. So to the previous two archives I proposed, I add one more:
TWikiAppArchive.
