It would be cool to be able to export a Twiki table to a
CSV file.

Do you mean a simple twiki table (ie using | | | ) ?
or a
WebForm Table as on this topic, or a set of
WebForms like all topics with the same
WebForm?
either way, yes, that would be an interesting Plugin, and being able to import a cvs file into a topic to create a pipe based table would be trully cool
(i do think this is a plugins idea)

Just a simple twiki table (| | |). We currently use simple tables, the
TablePlugin, and a search to display a list of tasks for a project. Other people in the company want to see spreadsheets. It is a pain to cut/paste into Excel/OpenOffice. I found a temporary solution by using html2csv (
http://coscorrosa.com/programs/cgi/html2csv/
), which converts
HTML tables to
CSVs.

If we're feaure voting here, then 'Me Too'. Just a simple export of the table as a .csv, preserving the header row and appropriately quoting commas and quotes (and with the right content-type, so a spreadsheet can startup automatically if required).

Were you aware that you can
automatically import tables into Excel from a URL? (i.e. you don't need to go via
CSV). I used this extensively in the past in conjunction with the
FormQueryPlugin to pull project data into spreadsheets and presentations. I don't know if it can be done in Open Office.

OpenOffice has a nice feature for getting external data. Insert/external data and past your url. Does not seem to handle https at the moment.

Crawford, how do you do this import from a URL to Excel?

Just paste the URL into the File > Open dialog (it grabs the whole web page). Sometimes, depending on the browser and Windows version I think, you can also copy and paste the table intact.
