Feature Proposal: Enhance MailerContrib To Allow Exclusion Of Webs
Motivation
We needed to set up a cron job for all webs to receive notifications once every hour, except one web which wanted to receive notifications weekly.
Description and Documentation
I have attached a patch to
Mailer.pm and the
mailnotify script. It allows us to exclude webs using the following syntax:
perl -I ../bin ./mailnotifytest -q -Main

Note that for this to be considered a serious change proposal for a release you need to add it to add a link to this topic in
TWikiFeature04x02 and you must be prepared to either implement it yourself or with the help of someone. The so called 14-day rule does not apply until this has happened.
In this case you have already posted a patch so it will be a simple matter of checking it into
SVN if accepted. BUT driving a feature also means being prepared to fix error related to the new feature.
I cannot see that you have applied for
SVN checkin rights. You should. TWiki is a very open project ready to accept new developers both for core and plugin development. In fact noone that has applied has been rejected yet.
See
SoYouWantToBeATWikiDeveloper which describes how to get started. There are no obligations to how many lines of code you must contribute with. 10 lines per year. 1 million. We are happy to receive any contributions. If if you drop by #twiki on IRC then we will gladly help you getting started with
SVN. It is really easy.
And thanks for the contributions already done.

I now have
SVN access, and am starting to get familiar with it, so can implement this patch.

Yes. The chance that anyone will raise concern against this is close to zero since it does not influence normal viewing performance or edit performance and it is compatible in every possible way. So go ahead and implement

No-brainer. Thanks Andrew!

Enough time passed for raising concern. Consensus seems reached and feature is already implemented.
