Ouch. I didn't see VerbatimExpandsVariables in time to take exception to the `nobody is using this, right?' discussion. I am (well... was now that we've upgraded) using this a lot to integrate views of source files in topics, e.g.

<verbatim>
%INCLUDE{http://%HTTP_HOST%/cvs/*checkout*/some-project/file.xml}%
</verbatim>

So I guess this is a request for something like a %VEBATIM_INCLUDE{}%.
