Content incorporated in
OopResources. This page can be deleted after the next Google index??
When I do delete the page, I should move the following to a page like
WLPolPageRename.
Why do I say that? Well, just a guess, at first. At that point:
- This page should be available until the next Google indexing (crawl) as the cached page, so if the page itself is gone, they can view the cached version which will lead them to OopResources.
- Then, at the following indexing, there will be no trace of this page, and no need for anyone to find their way back to it from Google.
What if somebody bookmarked the page?
Good point! I'll think about it, but at some point I think we'll let old links die. The thing I'm trying to do is pick a good point. And (a point to be checked), hopefully they'll get some decent hint if they come to a non-existent page (like a link to the search page or similar). There is probably a TWiki template for that, which I can modify if appropriate.
What about other web search engines??
