It can sometimes be helpful to send email from the command line, for example, while troubleshooting your mail system. Here are a few ways to do it:

• sendmail someone@someispPLEASENOSPAM.com -s "message subject" < message.txt

• echo "message text" | mail -s "message subject" someone@someispPLEASENOSPAM.com

• cat testfile.txt | mail -s "text" someone@someispPLEASENOSPAM.com

• mycommand | mail -s "results of mycommand" someone@someispPLEASENOSPAM.com

• mail someone@someispPLEASENOSPAM.com
